MISSION AND PHILOSOPY

"Choose to care, choose to empower another woman."

• AAWEL is a network of women and girls from diverse ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds who believe in gender equality, peace and social justice.



• AAWEL members believe that women-helping-women at the grass-root level is the most effective way to empower less fortunate women and girls in Africa.



• AAWEL members believe that literacy, education, training and economic empowerment of girls and women are the most important weapon against poverty, injustices and violence towards girls, women and the poor in Niger and other African countries. Therefore AAWEL focuses on training and capacity development amongst women and girls.



• AAWEL develops alliances with gender-fair individuals and grass-root, national and international organizations in order to advocate and develop educational and economic opportunities for girls and women in Niger.
